Meet Chuck Trautman
Chuck has owned and operated his own businesses for over 40 years.
Chuck’s first full-time job as an adult was serving four years as a U.S. Marine in the Vietnam War era
The lessons learned about himself in leading others were invaluable. He earned the rank of Sargent before he was honorably discharged, so he is affectionately known to as "Sgt. Chuck".
Sgt Chuck (a corporal at the time) is proud to have been awarded two air medals for his service as a combat aircrewman in Vietnam. He can't believe how young he looks in this picture where his CO is pinning on the first air medal!
After his discharge from the Marines, he tried to return to school, but found it boring and a waste of time as a means of accomplishing his goals and dreams. Besides, 24-year-old, former Marine Sergeant Vietnam vets, were not readily accepted by anti-war students and faculty in that era!
Chuck had a 5 year stint in Corporate America. After that, he has owned his own businesses which included:
He says every business he's owned has helped people enjoy and / or improve their lives.
On a personal note, he has been supported by his wife Carol since 1966. Together they have two daughters and four grandchildren.
When he's not working, Trautman (on left in picture of vision screening volunteers) is active in the Pinnacle Peak Lions Club. His favorite activities with the Lions are helping veterans groups, supporting those who help active duty US Military Members, and performing vision screening in schools.
Over the years, the Pinnacle Peak Lions have vision screened thousands of kids. Many have been referred for additional eye exams. Good vision makes for better students.
Chuck is also a regular blood donor. His lifetime donations total well over 10 gallons! If you don't donate blood, please consider it. It saves lives!
